Comfortable flat to rent in central Huancayo, Junin, Peru

We're the current tenants, advertising the flat as a favour to the landlady.

The landlady is on the board of ICPNA, a huge American-English language school one block away. She doesn't speak English herself, but we can help you set up the rental if necessary. If you are interested, contact me HERE.

Here are some more details:

For us it has been an ideal location in Huancayo, within walking distance from all the facilities we needed, and comfortable. We are now moving to another city for our children's education.

For people who don't know Huancayo, it is a busy modern city in the fertile Mantaro valley in the central highlands of Peru. It is not a major tourist destination for foreigners, so you don't see many gringos about, except for when the tourist train comes up from Lima (maybe 6-10 times a year). Still there are various pre-Inca ruins to explore and a distinctive pre-Colombian culture in the region. There are interesting nearby villages, each specialising in different crafts. The altitude is 3200m, with surrounding mountains about 1000m higher, and the nearest snow-capped peak (Huaytapallana) about 1000m higher than that. For walkers, there are some interesting wooded valleys and many mountain tops accessible directly from the town, or after a short bus ride.

Here are some photos taken from when we were moving in, with some of our furniture. Note that there are curtains included, but we had taken them down at this point to wash them.
